The LBJ Presidential Library is a federal facility as it is part of the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). To protect its holdings, staff, and buildings, NARA facilities abide by the following measure within Code of Federal Regulations, 36 CFR § 1280:

• Firearms and other dangerous weapons are prohibited in the building.

It is a violation of federal law and punishable by fine and/or imprisonment to knowingly possess, cause, or attempt to introduce them in a federal facility.
