In April 2020, about 3.5 million moms of school-age children shifted out of active work, moving into paid or unpaid leave, losing their jobs, or leaving the labor force completely, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Nearly half of all mothers were not working last April. While some of those women have re-joined the workforce, women have felt the effects of the pandemic disproportionately.
Please join us for a live panel discussion spotlighting the struggle of Texas mothers during the pandemic. Participants will discuss unemployment numbers, issues around childcare, the toll on women’s mental health, and what, if any, policy solutions could be enacted to support Texas mothers.
